For five-weeks these groups will explore our Christian callings and will be an integral part of preparing us for a very special celebration of Pentecost on Sunday, May 23.  Which of these small groups will you join?  We'll add more if needed.

Why small groups?  Methodists believe in "holy conferencing", a Wesleyan tradition where Christians gather together to pray, read scripture and converse openly with one another.  It was the heart of the Methodist Movement.  We trust God will use our holy conferencing as a way to speak to us, call us and renew us.

Goals of this small group experience:
  • You'll grasp, as more than an interesting idea, that you are being called by God.
  • You'll feel the urge to identify your calling
  • You'll get hints from scripture, tradition and neighbors on how to listen for your calling.
  • You'll pay attention in a new way to...
    • dreams, not as "just a dream", but perhaps as the voice of God.
    • longings, as suggested by "if only I had the time I'd..."
    • what your Christian neighbors think your calling might be.
    • what you admire people doing and wish you were doing.
