The Weary World Rejoices: Advent 2025, November 30-December 21, 2025
When we are honest, we enter Advent weary. Weary from newsfeeds and policies that promote cruelty over compassion. Weary from the weight of division and despair. Into this world, the cry of O Holy Night echoes again: “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices.” Advent invites us to name our weary reality as it proclaims that Christ comes with hope, love, joy, and peace, breaking through the shadows with light.
Each week, we will hear not only the ancient promises of scripture but also the living witness of UMCG’s mission partners, whose work embodies the Good News in weary places. Together, we will rejoice because God’s light still shines, and the darkness cannot overcome it.

Join us for our annual Advent Worship and Tea–offered two times Dec. 8 at 9:30 am or 7:00 pm. We begin with a worship including live music in the sanctuary then move to our Fellowship Hall to enjoy a lovely tea! Bring a friend!

Join us Sunday morning, December 14 at 9 or 10:30 am for a special service of our Cantata Choir, accompanied by 10-piece chamber orchestra!
(Extended nursery care, through Pre-K, available for both services/performances.)

Join us anytime between 2 and 7 pm the afternoon of December 21 for a special event meant to provide calm amidst the holiday chaos. Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome to experience a candlelit exercise called Spiral Walk.
