Youth

At UMCG, we strive to connect Youth with one another and inter-generationally through fellowship, study, and worship opportunities for all ages. Youth will feel welcomed and respected for who they are.

Fall Activities

Oct. 24: Escape Room – Time TBD – iPanic Escape Room St. Charles

Oct. 30 or 31:  Rake and Run in Halloween costume – Times TBD

Nov. TBD:  Hesed House assistance—Possible multiple dates based on Jr and Sr High requirements

Dec. 11: Cookie Decorating Contest – Time TBD – UMCG Youth/Gathering Room. We will supply the basic        ingredients, you supply the creativity

Overview

Sunday Morning at 9:00 am

Junior High Faith Followers (6th-8th Grade) – Meets in the Adult Learning Center

High School Sunday School (9th-12th Grade) – Meets in the Youth Room

First Sunday of every month – Youth participate as ushers, greeters, readers, and more at 9:00 a.m. Worship in the Sanctuary.

Youth Activities are held several Sunday afternoons every month.  These include a variety of activities:

      • Pen & Paper – role-playing and other games

      • volleyball

      • open gym at a local rec center

      • escape room events

      • baking for meals for others

      • making toys and shredding newspaper for animal rescue center

      • Nerf wars!

      • baseball games at Marklund

      • making sandwiches for homeless centers

      • making blankets for Good Night/Sleep Tight ministry

      • helping with events for younger children: Mardi Gras party, Egg Hunt, and more!

Confirmation

Confirmation 2021-22 will begin this fall, with a joint program offered for youth of our Tri-City United Methodist Churches. The program will run through the school year with classes led by the pastors of our Batavia, St. Charles and Geneva UMCs. Check out the TriCityMethodist website for more information.
