2022 Church Council Book Study

The congregation is invited to join the Church Council in a monthly book study as we learn a new leadership posture for ministry and life by reading How to Lead When You Don’t Know Where You’re Going: Leading in a Liminal Season, by Susan Beaumont. The sessions began in February at 7pm and continue for the first 30 minutes or so every regular Church Council meeting of 2022. You can request a copy of the book by clicking here

Adult Sunday School meets Sundays at 10:30 am in the church Parlor and Via Zoom.

Adult Sunday School studied the book Words of Life-Jesus and the Promise of the Ten Commandments Today by Adam Hamilton this Spring. They are currently on a break for the Summer and will resume in late August or in September. Check back for our Fall Study.

Spirited Women will meet at the North end of Wheeler Park from June 15 to August 31 from 9:15-11am. Bring your own chair and join us for some good conversation and fun. We won’t be having a “class,” just sharing about our flowers, favorite books/movies or anything at all! We will be just staying connected and enjoying the outdoors together.
On September 7th we will return to the church parlor and finish our book study from this year “Making the Road by Walking by Brian McClaren. We will decide on our fall book/study then. Join us irregardless if you’ve read the book or not. Contact Cheryl Johnson for questions.
We hope to see you at the park!

Men’s Early Bird Fellowship – All men are invited to be a part of this book study group.  Join them at Colonial Restaurant at the corner of Route 64 and Tyler Road in St. Charles.  For more information, contact Jim McConnell.

They are currently studying “Which Way Lord” by Rob Fuquay.

PRACTICE CENTERING PRAYER
For some years Pastor Rob, Sharon Anderson and Pastor Mary Gay have practiced Centering Prayer. In this form of prayer one sits still, quietly alone or in a circle with others for a set number of minutes. It’s a time to listen for a Word from God, so different from other prayer times at UMCG in which we pray out loud. Join us on Thursdays at 1:30pm. Come and bring friends! Contact Pastor Mary Gay McKinney for more information.
